This historic image depicts a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) scientist, who was dressed in his airtight, blue colored, protective suit, including a facemask, while showering herself in a disinfectant solution, before he was to exit a Biosafety Level-4 laboratory (BSL-4). Note that at this point in his activities, the red colored, coiled tube, supplying fresh air to the scientist, was still attached to the suit.
