Caption:
This is a medial view of the right arm of a 27 year old white female with a case of cutaneous anthrax. The patient had worked in a spinning department of a goat hair processing plant for 3 years. This image show you the appearance of the lesion as seen on the12th day of its development. Note the characteristic dark, almost black-colored lesion, from which the name anthrax was derived, due to the fact that the color of anthracite coal is black.
