Under a magnification of 500X, this photomicrograph reveals the presence of histopathologic changes in a Brown and Brenn (B&B)-stained lung tissue sample, harvested from a patient with a fatal case of inhalation anthrax. You are able to see the darkly-stained, rod-shaped Bacillus anthracis bacteria, responsible for this condition.
