Caption:
This 1995 image depicts a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) epidemiologist, who had opened a container of liquid nitrogen, and was transferring some of its contents to a smaller container. The scenario was captured in Kikwit, Zaire, during that region’s Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) outbreak. This liquid nitrogen would be used to preserve a tissue specimen harvested from a EVD patient.
