This historic image, captured during the early 1960s, depicts members of what was the Smallpox Immunization team in Brazil. In this particular scene, the team was aboard a small motor boat, probably on their way to a remote location, in order to administer smallpox vaccine to the inhabitants. The man on the left, can be seen performing what may have been a reconstitution of a lyophilized smallpox vaccine, getting it ready for administration.
