Caption:
This 1976 photograph depicts a multiracial group of women and children in a housing project, who were lining up at a mobile clinic, waiting for their children to be vaccinated. Note the physician on the right, as he was administering a vaccination to the left arm of a young, African-American boy, while the seated nurse was registering the children. This scenario had been located in a hypothetical, Dixon Tiller County, U.S.A., and was used as a teaching aid, to educate people on how to approach the subject of vaccine-preventable diseases.
