This 1999 photograph depicts the face of a young child, who was displaying the characteristic maculopapular rash of measles. Note that the eye exhibited the conjunctivitis, or inflammation of the conjunctival membrane that covers the anterior surface of each eye, imparting the red coloration, and marked tear production.
