This illustration depicts a dorsal view of a male body louse, Pediculus humanus var. corporis. Note that one of the sexual characteristics of the male louse is the presence of a convex, or “rounded” distal apical end of this ectoparasite’s abdomen. The location of the male genitalia has been indicated by a cone-shaped region within the abdomen, and exiting at the abdominal apex.
