Caption:
This image depicts a close intraoral view of a HIV/AIDS-positive patient, who was exhibiting signs of a secondary condyloma acuminata infection, also known as venereal warts, but here, within the oral cavity. The human papilloma virus (HPV) caused this intraoral eruption of condyloma acuminata. Though oral HPV is a rare occurrence, HIV reduces the body’s immune response, and therefore, such secondary infections can then manifest.
