This illustration depicts a dorsal view of two members of the class, Arachnida, a representative spider on the left, and a representative tick on the right. The spider is a member of the order, Araneae, while the tick is a member of the subclass, Acari. Both representatives exhibit four pairs of jointed legs, and no antennae, however, there are obvious morphologic differences between these two arachnid orders.
