This image depicts a close anterior view of a patient’s abdomen, which displayed what was determined to be an oval herald patch, as well as a more generalized rash, due to a condition referred to as pityriasis rosea, a harmless, yet itchy, scaly skin disease often found in people 10 to 35-years of age. Initially, most people develop one large scaly patch (herald patch), and within 1-2 weeks, smaller pink patches can occur on the trunk, arms and legs.
