This photomicrograph reveals some of the ultrastructural details exhibited by the fungal organism, Hortaea werneckii, which included the organism’s septate hyphae, and annelloconidia branching in clusters directly from the hyphae. H. werneckii is known to be a causative agent of tinea nigra.
