This image from 1969, depicts a 22-month-old male with the an inherited immunodeficiency disease known as, Bruton’s hypogammaglobulinemia. After a smallpox vaccination, the infant developed vaccinia necrosum. Note the large necrotic area at the vaccination site. See PHIL 13337 and 13338, for two additional views of this post-vaccination reaction.
