This photomicrograph of a lactophenol cotton blue stained specimen revealed some of the ultrastructural morphology exhibited by the fungal organism, Microsporum canis. M. canis, a zoophilic dermatophyte often found in cats and dogs, is a common cause of tinea corporis and tinea capitis in humans.
