This is a photomicrograph of a control specimen of Nichol's strain, Treponema pallidum bacteria, and reveals the presence of a number of spirochetal organisms. Under a magnification of 54X, and viewed using dark field microscopy, the rabbit testicle tissue sample was processed using the fluorescent antibody technique, which highlighted these organisms.
