Description:Caption:
From the “Illustrated Manual for the Recognition and Diagnosis of Certain Animal Diseases”, published in 1982, by the Mexico-United States Commission for the Prevention of Foot and Mouth Disease, this close left lateral view of a chicken’s head, depicts what appears to be a normal bird, but looking closely you’ll notice the pale comb atop its head, which was determined to be due to a velogenic viscerotropic Newcastle disease (VVND) infection. This illness is also known as exotic Newcastle disease, Asiatic or Doyle’s form of Newcastle disease.
