This was a historic view of the Mississippi River from its west bank, under the Ford Bridge, looking upstream, on June 4, 1933, just outside Minneapolis, Minnesota. This was one of a series of instructional images, used by the Minnesota Board of Health to train the state's public health workers. The purpose of the photographs, and the accompanying training, was focused on protecting water supplies from bacterial contamination. The descriptive information that accompanied this image, also stated that the photograph was labeled as, File no. 22627.
