Description:The three men posed in this historic 1916 photograph, were on their way to conduct field studies involving the acquisition, and testing of water samples. Note the packed traveling laboratory case situated at the feet of the man seated on the left.
For more detailed views of the case, as well as its contents, see PHIL #s 8503, 8504, and 8505. In this instance, the laboratory technicians were being transported to their field destination by way of railroad.
