Description:This image shows two veterinarians who had made a “house-call”, and were in the process of administering an on-site rabies vaccination to a domestic canine.
Before 1960, the majority of reported animal cases of rabies were associated with domestic animals. Today, however, more than 90% of all animal cases appear in wildlife. In the United States, human fatalities associated with rabies occur in people who fail to seek medical assistance, usually because they were unaware of their exposure.
