This historic photograph was created during the Tuskegee Syphilis Study, and depicts Eunice Rivers, RN, visiting a patient in a cotton field located in Macon County, Alabama. Nurse Rivers was assigned to the study in 1932, and was the only staff member who remained through the study’s 40-year period.
