This photograph depicts an entomologic field technician inspecting some discarded automobile tires for the presence of mosquitoes, primarily Aedes aegypti, which is a vector responsible for the transmission of Dengue fever to humans. Discarded tires can retain water, and are therefore, make for a prime breeding ground for mosquitoes.
