This photograph shows Maridi Hospital in Maridi, Sudan, which was one of the areas in Sudan that was devastated by the 1976 Ebola outbreak. The staff in this hospital did not properly sterilize their needles, and like the hospital in Yambuku, Zaire, it became a breeding ground for new Ebola cases. In the 1976 Sudan outbreaks, which began in Nzara, there were 284 cases that were recorded with 141 fatalities.
