Caption:
This illustration depicts the three nymphal stages through which a typical louse passes, on its way to becoming an adult insect. Note the morphologic changes accompanying each nymphal stage. Change in overall size predominates as the most noticeable change, but notice the increased demarcation that becomes more pronounced between each body region: head, thorax, and abdominal regions.
