This amphibious rotary ditcher (ARD) was outfitted with what is referred to as a cutter-slinger head, which was created to be used in the process of creating a drainage ditch. You can see that the debris spray was being directed towards the right side of this image. Agriculturists work hand in hand with hydrologists in order to determine the most effective means of alleviating the accumulation of unwanted water, by monitoring the land, and understanding the geographic topography. This data is integral in the design and maintenance of water drainage canals associated with potential water accumulation zones.
