This 1986 photograph depicts a C-123 USAF aircraft, which was being outfitted with an insecticidal spray apparatus, in order to combat an outbreak of mosquito-borne St. Louis Encephalitis (SLE). The use of spray planes, and even helicopters is an excellent way in which an insecticidal fog may be dispersed over, and in close proximity to insect-vector habitats that the insecticide must cover, and with which it must remain in contact in order to kill, or ward off such arboviral hosts.
