Description:This patient presented with conjunctival lesions of the left eye due to a systemically disseminated gonococcal infection.
If untreated N. gonorrhoeae bacteria may spread to the bloodstream and, thereby, throughout the body. The most common symptoms are then rash and joint pains, but other generalized symptoms may result as well such as conjunctivitis.
