This image depicts an anterior view of a patient’s shins, on which you’re able to see a number of pustules, each surrounded by an erythematous halo. These inflamed lesions were the result bites from fire ants, Solenopsis saevissima, which are native to South America, that introduced to the United States through the importation of agricultural products.
