Description:This patient presented with a fire ant bite on his leg with a pustular center inflicted by a Solenopsis saevissima.
The fire ant Solenopsis saevissima, is a native to South America, and was introduced to the United States through the importation of agricultural products. Note the erythematous ring which surrounds the pustular papular center of each bite.
