Caption:
This image depicts a tarantula spider, a member of the order Araneae, and the family Theraphosidae, which was found in its Californian habitat. In spite of their large size, and ominous appearance, tarantulas, for the most part, are not dangerous to humans. In fact, they often make interesting pets, and can even be trained. Most spend a majority of their time underground in self-made burrows.
