This photograph captured in 1977, depicted a laboratorian named Gabriel, a Lassa Fever Project staff member, while he was seen here seated in his Kenema, Sierra Leone laboratory, and using a microscope. In 1977, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) traveled to Sierra Leone to participate in a Lassa Fever Research Project. The study included general activities in Sierra Leone, at the Kenema Laboratory, and in the town of Segbwema.
