Description:This is a photomicrograph of a rabbit blood culture showing Haemophilus ducreyi bacteria using Gram-stain technique.
H. ducreyi is the primary cause for a condition known as “Human Genital Ulcer Disease” or “Chancroid”, especially in developing countries. The transmission of this bacterium and HIV has been epidemiologically linked.
