Caption:
This historic photograph depicted a laboratorian, who was pipetting hazardous materials, while wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) that included gloves, and a laboratory coat. The technician was working on an experiment, which was kept contained within the confines of a ventilated, negatively pressurized flow hood. The hood draws laboratory air into the cabinet, rather than allowing contaminated air to flow out, into the lab environment.
