Captured in an unknown woodsy location, this 1980 image depicted what had been a caged sentinel chicken flock used to detect the presence of a specific arbovirus, by attracting mosquitoes, sustaining a bite, and subsequently, being tested in order to detect the presence of a specific arbovirus. This image was part of a series, used in the training of vector collection technicians, in the proper methods that are implemented when processing medically important arthropods for arbovirus isolation, identification, and analysis, in order to determine their vector potentials.
