Caption:
In this 1976 photograph, a seated male patient was having his blood pressure read by a public health practitioner. Note that the blood pressure cuff was wrapped around the patient’s upper right arm, and the technician was listening for his pulse through a stethoscope, place distally to the cuff, while reading his blood pressure on the sphygmomanometer’s mercury column, in the center on the image.
