This illustration depicts a left lateral view of a flea’s head, highlighting some of the morphologic characteristics found on the exterior of this region, for those members of the family Pulicidae, which contains some of the most common and important fleas. These fleas can be divided into 3 groups: (1) has a genal comb and a pronotal comb, (2) has only the pronotal comb, and (3) has neither genal nor pronotal comb.
