This photomicrograph reveals ultrastructural details exhibited by a rhabditiform, or noninfectious staged larva of a parasitic Strongyloides sp. nematode. Diagnostic characteristics of rhabditiform-staged Strongyloides spp. larvae, include a length of 200µm-250µm (up to 380µm), a short buccal cavity, and a prominent genital primordium, which are the structures that will become the organism’s genitalia.
