This photomicrograph reveals ultrastructural details exhibited by an Enterobius vermicularis egg, the causal agent of enterobiasis, otherwise known as the human pinworm infection. The ova are elongated, flattened on one side, and measure 50µm - 60µm X 20µm - 32µm.
