Description:Note the histopathologic changes seen in aspergillosis of the lung of a caged parrot using H&E stain, which shows fungal hyphae.
The etiologic agent in this case was found to be Aspergillus flavus-oryzae. Immunosuppressed patients are most susceptible to these pathogenic fungi, said to be the most common opportunistic fungi second only to Candida sp..
