This photomicrograph reveals some of the ultrastructural details exhibited by the fungal organism, Corynespora cassiicola, which had been taken from a slide culture. C. cassiicola is known to cause the fungal infection in plants known as leaf spotting disease. Soybeans, cucumbers, tomato, and tobacco, as well as a number of foliage plants are sometimes affected, and thus this pathogen must be monitored.
