Description:This Nepalese child is exhibiting signs of extreme malnutrition such as marasmus, and kwashiorkor, or pedal edema.
The signs of marasmus are loose, folded skin and a protruding rib cage with the manifestation of such symptoms in a developing child, whose body is in need of vast quantities of nutrients, being quite rapid and producing profound consequences.
