Description:This patient presented with gingivitis exhibiting marginal redness of the gums or gingivae.
Gingivitis starts with the build-up of plaque that forms mostly at the base of the visible part of the teeth. This plaque is caused by food debris and bacteria that grow on this particulate matter. If left untreated it can progress to periodontitis.
