This is a posterior view of the lower extremities of a 14-year-old Ghanaian girl, revealing a number of ulcerative papillomas. The Venereal Disease Research Laboratory test, or VDRL, produced a positive result of 1:64, and was accompanied by the fluorescent treponemal antibody absorption (FTA-ABS) test, and microhemagglutination assay (MHA-TP) tests, both of which were reactive, or positive. Treatment for this patient consisted of intramuscular injections of 600 units of procaine benzylpenicillin in oil with aluminium monostearate (PAM).
