This photograph shows you the clinical appearance of a male patient’s arm, which reveals a positive Casoni skin test for hydatid disease, also referred to as cystic echinococcosis (CE). The test is carried out by injecting a tiny amount of sterilized fluid, created from Echinococcus granulosus hydatid cysts, into the recipient’s forearm, using a subcutaneous technique.
