This photomicrograph revealed the presence of a human malaria parasite in this blood smear. You’re able to see a mature, rosette-shaped schizont, which contained a number of merozoites. Some of the cytoplasm of the contained merozoites, which are seen forming a ring around a clump of centralized pigment, was visible in this view.
