Dated 08-02-76, this anteroposterior x-ray revealed bilateral pulmonary infiltrates in a patient diagnosed with Legionnaires' disease (LD). Note that the pneumonic changes were more profound in the left hemithorax than the right. See PHIL 17299 for the 08-01-76 anteroposterior x-ray that was captured one day before, PHIL 5156, for an 08-03-76 x-ray that had been taken 1-day later, 16377, for a 07-29-76 x-ray taken 3-days before, and 29380, for a 07-31-76 x-ray taken 2-days before, giving you some idea as to the progression of this patient's illness. Legionnaire's disease is an acute and sometimes fatal respiratory illness caused by the Legionella pneumophila bacterium.
