This was a photomicrograph of a fluorescent antibody (FA)-stained sample extracted from a clinical pus specimen, harvested from a case of sporotrichosis, caused by the fungal organism, Sporothrix schenckii, formerly known as Sporotrichum schenckii. Here, the fungus was in its yeast form.
