Under a magnification of 450X, this photomicrograph of a fluorescent antibody (FA)-stained liver tissue sample was captured on the 1-day post-infection with the malarial parasite, Plasmodium cynomolgi, and demonstrates the presence of a shining hepatocyte, that had been infected with a P. cynomolgi sporozoite, which would go on to develop into a schizont.
