Under a magnification of 760X, and processed using the periodic acid-Schiff (PAS) staining technique, this photomicrograph highlighted some of the ultrastructural morphology exhibited by a Histoplasma capsulatum spore, or macroconidium, designated as 35-B, which included the macroconidium’s tuberculate, or knobby studded cell wall. This specimen had been captured on a membrane filter (MF).
