This image depicted a close anterior view of a Petri dish culture plate which had contained an unidentified growth medium, that had been inoculated with the dimorphic fungal organism, Paracoccidioides brasiliensis, strain B-339. This small P. brasiliensis colony grew over a 4-week incubation period, and displayed a characteristic heaped rough to granular central region, and a white, fuzzy periphery.
