Under a magnification of 970X, this photomicrograph highlights some of the ultrastructural morphology exhibited by the fungal organism, Phialophora verrucosa. Note the erect, perpendicularly branching conidiophores, topped by flask-shaped phialides, from which a mass of conidia had sprouted. You can also see the septate hyphal filaments.
