Following the 2014 - 2016 Ebola Epidemic in West Africa, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) supported development in microbiology capacity at the National Public Health Laboratory in Conakry, Guinea. Since that time, with CDC’s support, Guinea’s Ministry of Health (MoH) has been able to perform testing for cholera, meningitis, and other pathogens of epidemic potential, for which they previously had limited capacity to confirm. With this capacity, they can now detect, and responder faster to outbreaks. This image was captured at the Institute National de Santé Publique, located in the capital city of Conakry.
